AE Rules and Regulations
It is important that all AE members understand the importance of the special relationship we have with participating theaters. AE members must be discreet when picking up tickets at a box office, we do not want to hinder a theater's ability to sell full price tickets. These theaters are being gracious enough to invite us to their productions.
Initial Membership Cost Breakdown
Membership (per year): $85 plus Personal Reserve Fund: $30
Total: $115 initial cost.
Your AE Membership is Continuous.
Your Membership is for your own personal use: Only the person listed as the actual Audience Extras (AE) member can use the service.

Your Membership ID Card: Your AE membership ID card is used to pick up reserved tickets. Theaters will only release tickets to members with a valid AE ID card, no other ID is acceptable. New members are given a temporary paper membership ID card and assigned an individual member number. Temporary cards are then replaced with a permanent plastic photo ID card at the AE office. Your ID card carries a deposit of $15 on it and is the property of AE to be surrendered upon demand. Losing your AE ID forfeits your deposit and a new ID must be reprinted for you to continue your membership; there is a $15 reprint fee as well as a new $15 deposit on the reprinted card. Sharing your AE ID card with other people or making a copy of your AE ID card is forbidden and will terminate your AE membership.

Your Personal Reserve Fund (PRF): This is the money you set aside to cover the cost of your reservation's service charge. You must maintain a minimum balance of $15 in your PRF. If your PRF falls below $15 you will have to replenish it with a minimum deposit of $40.

Show Availability: AE members may gain access to the current listing of shows by calling the tele-broadcast (212) 686-1966 24 hours a day or at www.audienceextras.com 24 hours a day. A $3.00 service charge is deducted from your PRF for each ticket reserved. All tickets are complimentary regardless of their actual cast value. In the event that a show is free to the general public the $3.00 service charge still applies to AE members.

Reservations: All tickets are free, i.e. complementary from the participating theatre. Only a $3.00 service charge per reserved ticket will be deducted from your PRF. Reservations are made via phone by calling (212) 686-1966 Tue. thru Sat. 10:30 am to 5:30 pm or via the Internet at www.audienceextras.com 24 hours a day. You must be a current member in good standing with no less than $15 in your PRF. AE reserves the right to distribute its complementary tickets as it judges best. Members may reserve 1 to 2 tickets based upon availability; members who have made a $35 or more tax-deductible contribution to The Memorial Foundation for the Arts may reserve 1 to 4 tickets based on availability. All reservations are final, you are responsible for the service charge upon acceptance of your reservation. Seating is at the discretion of the box office. Theaters reserve the right to withdraw their complementary tickets at anytime. In the event that a reservation is not honored or a show is cancelled your PRF will be refunded the cost of the reservation's service charge.

Picking Up Tickets: After you make your reservations you will be instructed on where and when to pick up your tickets. You must present your AE ID card to the box office attendant discreetly. Remember you are receiving free complementary tickets through AE and the generosity of the participating theatre. By being on time and discreet we assure a continuous relationship with the theatre while not hurting their box office sales. Seating is always at the discretion of the box office.

Your Membership: Your AE membership is continuous. You will be tentatively billed annually one month prior to the anniversary of the date you joined AE. A statement of your year's activity and a bill will be mailed to you. You have until your anniversary date to pay it in full; a $10 late fee will apply to your dues thereafter. A professional courtesy bonus will be applied to your PRF after the 1st year of membership if you furnish us a copy of your theatrical or acting affiliation. AE reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who is unpleasant, discourteous or creates a problem of any kind at the theatre or the AE office. You will be held financially responsible for your disruptive actions. Breaking any AE rule is cause for immediate and unconditional cancellation of your AE membership.

Membership Cancellation: To cancel your membership you must express that fact in writing and mail back your AE membership ID card to Audience Extras at 61 Lexington Avenue NY NY 10010. Failure to mail back your AE ID card forfeits your $15 deposit and a $15 lost ID card fee will be charged. Cancellations within 30 days of joining receive a full refund less the service charges for any shows that might have been seen in that period and a $25 cancellation-processing fee. Cancellations after 30 days of joining receive the remainder of their PRF less a $15 cancellation-processing fee. All refunds are mailed to the AE member's address that is on file in the form of a check and cancellation may take up to 4-6 weeks. Members who do not pay their annual dues after one-year forfeit any monies in their PRF, this money goes to The Memorial Foundation for the Arts to support non-profit theatre.

Additional Charges: Reprint of a membership ID card is $15 plus $15 deposit. A bounced check deposited incurs a $25 fee. Abandoning tickets at a box office incur $5 fee per ticket. Report of a late ticket pick up by the theatre incurs $5 fee for each ticket. Any complaint about an AE member by a theatre incurs a $25 fee plus a review of that members account, during which time no reservations can be made and membership privileges may be revoked. Any fees or dues owed may be charged onto your credit card, taken from your PRF or billed to you. Fees and regulations are subject to change without advanced notice. All discrepancies, adjustments or requests must be in writing and mailed to the AE office. AE reserves the right to review its applicants before processing them for membership.
